Meemic employees donated food baskets filled with nonperishable food items, toys, gift certificates and all the trimmings to create the perfect Thanksgiving dinner. The baskets went to 17 families from Walt Whitman Elementary in Pontiac, MI.
Meemic and our friends at AAA pretty much took over Super Bowl Lanes in Canton, MI, for the 2019 Bowl for Kids’ Sake fundraiser, which raised money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit. Meemic bowlers contributed more than $11,000 toward a total of more than $80,000 for BBBS’ mentorship programs. Way to go, teams!
Meemic held its traditional Souper Bowl chili / soup cook-off, which raised $640 to support this year’s school volunteer events. Congrats to the winning teams: People’s Choice – Information Systems, Best Presentation – Marketing / eCommerce, Healthiest – Customer Service / Direct Sales and Spiciest – Underwriting / Product / Actuarial / Finance. All awards were well deserved.

Around the holidays, Meemic employees donated piles of toys for The Bottomless Toy Chest, an organization that delivers gifts year-round to hospitalized pediatric cancer patients. We’re so glad we can bring some smiles to kids stuck in a rotten situation.
For Ugly Sweater Day, Meemic employees got to don their ugliest apparel, though most of the “ugly sweaters” were actually pretty cool.

Meemic Insurance donated two salvaged vehicles to automotive repair programs at two Ann Arbor Public Schools. Representatives from the Gordon Group Agency in Ann Arbor were on hand as a Hyundai Elantra went to Pioneer High School, and a Dodge Charger went to Huron High School.

Thirty-two people from Meemic (employees and their families) participated in the Making Strides of Oakland County walk for breast cancer awareness and research on Oct. 27. Team Meemic raised $548 on a chilly, rainy morning.
The “Big Game” came, and Meemic employees showed their team colors. Big-time local rivals Michigan Football and Michigan State Football got the bulk of the love, but there were some other colleges in there, too.
