Spring is in the air, and The Meemic Foundation is hard at work growing a number of great new grant opportunities and other fun projects.
April Grants
Teacher Appreciation Week is just around the corner (May 5-9), and we have a gift of appreciation just for you. This month’s PopIn2Win grant is a nice bundle: a “Proud Michigan Educator” tote bag with two books to celebrate you. “Woo Hoo! You’re Doing Great!” is a fun, colorful collection from cartoonist Sandra Boyton. In George Couros’ “Because of a Teacher: Stories of the Past to Inspire the Future of Education,” 15 leading educators share heartfelt stories from their early days of teaching. Enter to win by April 30, 2025, at MeemicFoundation.org/PopIn2Win.*
As this school year wraps up, we’re already thinking ahead to the next one! We’re giving 75 lucky schools $1,000 each to kick off the new school year with our Tools4Schools grant. Let’s make the upcoming school year unforgettable! Apply today for your chance to win and bring excitement to your school community. Entries due by June 30, 2025, at MeemicFoundation.org/Tools4Schools.**

Meemic Masterpieces Winners Take ‘Selfies@School’
We’re so excited to share with you the winners of our most recent Meemic Masterpieces creativity contest. As usual, we had lots of brilliant entries that really showcased our students’ talent. This time, student artists were tasked with creating self-portraits in a school setting. We took all the winners and created a special digital art album. Visit the winners page to have a look!
Fore! Education Golf Outing
We know you golfers are already thinking about those greens—if you haven’t hit the links already. On July 29, the ninth annual Fore! Education Meemic Foundation Golf Outing will be back at the beautiful Indianwood Golf & Country Club in Lake Orion, MI. Not a golfer? We’ll have something special that we are also hosting at the Country Club just for you (more info to come soon). Registration for both events will open soon, but sponsorship opportunities are open now, from individual holes to various specialty title sponsorships. Contact Foundation Director Pam Harlin at Pam.Harlin@Meemic.com for more information. Watch MeemicFoundation.org/Fore for more info.
Thank You for Your Service, RTOYS!
With Teacher Appreciation Week fast approaching, we’d like to give a special shout-out to the 2024-25 Michigan Regional Teachers of the Year.
Kelley Cusmano (the Michigan Teacher of the Year), Michael Powers, Molly Dunham, Kristen Ritter, Laura Baker, Sasha Wakefield, Cassandra Eberhardt, Melissa Frost, Kristina Dennis and Calvin Nellum have shown great dedication and passion to their students and profession.
On top of their teaching duties, they’ve been serving on the Michigan Teacher Leadership Advisory Council. The mission of the MTLAC is to bring the teacher voice to a wider audience, including direct work with the Michigan Department of Education to provide input on proposed policies and initiatives, and to help share valuable information and resources with teacher colleagues in their respective regions.
You also can read their monthly blog posts, with lots of insights, tips and teaching passion, at MeemicFoundation.org/Blog. There, you can also read about the 2025-26 RTOYs. Congratulations to all of them!
